What is Spring Cone Crusher?
The spring cone crusher is a classic cone crushing machine that uses the gyratory motion of an eccentrically rotating mantle to squeeze and crush material between the mantle and the concave (bowl liner). It was one of the first cone crushers invented and remains widely trusted for its simple, robust design.
Springs installed around the main frame provide overload protection: when uncrushable material such as tramp iron enters the chamber, the springs compress, the crushing cone rises, and the foreign material passes through — then the machine automatically resets, avoiding damage to the crusher.
It is widely used in mining, metallurgy, construction, road and railway building, and chemical industries for crushing hard and medium-hard ores and rocks such as iron ore, copper ore, limestone, quartz, and granite.

Working Principle
The spring cone crusher crushes material between a fixed concave and a gyrating mantle using continuous squeezing and bending action.
- Material enters from the feed opening at the top of the machine.
- Rocks fall into the crushing chamber between the fixed concave (bowl liner) and the moving mantle.
- The mantle gyrates eccentrically, squeezing and bending the rocks against the concave.
- Rock fractures along natural fissures; crushed pieces fall down as the mantle swings away.
- Springs absorb tramp iron and overload; the finished product discharges through the adjustable bottom opening.
The discharge opening can be precisely adjusted to control the final product size — from coarse aggregate to fine sand.
