General Introduction
The spiral sand washing machine is a trough classifier with one or two rotating screw shafts. Feed slurry enters the tank; the slowly turning spirals agitate the bed, freeing clay and lightweight impurities, which overflow with the wastewater.
Clean, heavy sand settles to the bottom and is conveyed up the inclined tank by the spirals, where it is lifted clear of the water and drained – combining washing, grading, and dewatering in a single machine.
It is the workhorse behind sand and gravel plants, quarries, and concrete aggregate lines that need to strip sticky fines and raise the washed-sand grade.
