Single Pass Rotary Dryer
A direct-heat rotary dryer where wet material passes once through a rotating, inclined drum and meets a counter-flow hot air stream – the simplest, most robust solution for bulk minerals, sand, slag, and fertilizers.
General Introduction
A single pass rotary dryer is the classic, most reliable drying machine for free-flowing bulk solids. Material is fed into the upper end of a long, slightly inclined rotating drum while hot combustion gas travels through it – counter-flow or co-current – carrying away evaporated moisture in a single pass.
Inside the drum, lifter flights repeatedly lift and shower the material through the hot gas, giving intimate heat contact and uniform drying. The inclined design lets the dried product tumble out the lower end onto a discharge conveyor, ready for cooling, screening, or bagging.
Because there is only one pass, the layout is short, simple, and inexpensive to install – ideal for mineral concentrates, silica sand, coal, slag, and fertilizer where throughput and uptime matter more than the absolute lowest fuel use.
