What is a Sand Making Production Line?
A sand making production line (also called an artificial sand plant or manufactured-sand line) is a complete system that turns raw stone, gravel, or crusher fines into uniform, cubical construction sand. It typically combines a vibrating feeder, primary jaw crusher, secondary cone/impact crusher, VSI sand making machine, vibrating screen, sand washer, and belt conveyors into one continuous process.
Material is progressively reduced in size, shaped by the high-speed VSI rotor, screened to specification, and washed to remove dust and impurities — delivering clean, well-graded sand that meets concrete and asphalt standards.

Working Principle
The sand making production line runs as a continuous, multi-stage process that progressively reduces and shapes raw stone into finished sand.
- Raw stone is fed by a vibrating feeder into the primary jaw crusher for coarse crushing.
- Belt conveyors transport the material to a secondary cone/impact crusher for further size reduction.
- The crushed material enters the VSI sand maker, where a high-speed rotor throws it against the anvil/rock bed to be shaped into cubical sand.
- A vibrating screen grades the sand by size; oversize returns to the VSI for re-crushing in a closed loop.
- Qualified sand passes through a sand washer to remove dust and impurities, then is dewatered and stockpiled as finished product.
Rotor speed and screen mesh can be adjusted to change the sand gradation and fineness modulus for different applications.
