High-performance secondary & tertiary crushing for hard and abrasive ores. Combines spring overload protection with optimized crushing chamber design for excellent cubic product shape and high capacity.
The compound cone crusher (also known as the Symons cone crusher) is a high-efficiency secondary and tertiary crushing machine. It uses an eccentrically gyrating mantle to crush material continuously between the mantle and the fixed concave bowl liner, producing well-shaped, cubical aggregate with a minimum of flat or elongated particles.
The “compound” design combines reliable spring overload protection with an optimized multi-cavity crushing chamber. When uncrushable material such as tramp iron enters the chamber, the springs compress to allow the offending material to pass, then the crusher automatically returns to its original setting — protecting the machine and minimizing downtime.
Available in Standard, Medium and Short-Head cavity types, the compound cone crusher covers coarse, medium and fine crushing in one machine family. It is widely used in mining, metallurgy, construction aggregate, railway building and chemical industries for crushing hard and medium-hard ores and rocks such as granite, basalt, iron ore, limestone and quartz.
Built for the hardest rocks and the longest production runs — a proven solution for high-output crushing circuits.
Optimized crushing chamber geometry and high-speed gyratory motion create interparticle crushing, giving excellent cubic product shape with a high percentage of fine fractions.
The mantle and concave are cast from high manganese steel with deep profiles, providing excellent wear resistance and long service intervals in abrasive hard-rock applications.
High throughput per kW installed, reliable bevel-gear drive, and easy liner replacement keep downtime and total cost of ownership low.
Standard, Medium and Short-Head cavities plus a wide range of discharge settings let one crusher family handle coarse aggregate, manufactured sand and fine ore crushing.
Engineering details that make the compound cone crusher a trusted workhorse in crushing plants worldwide.
Spring stack and robust frame provide instant overload protection. Tramp iron or excessive feed forces are absorbed and the crusher automatically resets.
Multi-cavity geometry promotes interparticle crushing, producing consistently cubical product and reducing flaky or elongated particles.
Precision spiral bevel gear and bronze eccentric bushing deliver smooth, high-torque gyratory motion with low vibration and long bearing life.
Dry-oil or water-sealed dust-proof system, centralized lubrication, and safe access points for liner replacement and routine inspection.
The compound cone crusher crushes material between a fixed concave (bowl liner) and a gyrating mantle using continuous squeezing and bending action.
The discharge opening can be adjusted to control final product size — from coarse aggregate to manufactured sand.
Standard, Medium and Short-Head cavity options in sizes from 3FT to 7FT to match every stage of your crushing circuit.
